Somnath Roy brings his latest single - Daag!
Ghazal, a music genre, with beautiful poetry, speaks about Love, Separation, Loneliness and some of the most intriguing emotions of human being.
Ghazal has always been glorified by some of the divine artists like Mehdi Hasan, Begum Akhtar, Jagjit Singh, Gulam Ali, and so many others. As a music composer, Somnath Roy aka Tattu, always wanted to join that community and in his own words “ I was looking for some heart drenching lyrics and one fine morning a friend of mine sent this poetry, written by Farkhanda Razvi, which really clinched my heart”.
“ Without wasting a moment I got in touch with the poetess and the journey of DAAG begun….After composing the song, I was thinking about, who could be the perfect choice as a singer and suddenly I got a message from Mansi Chakraborty (a friend of mine and a very talented vocalist). It’s a kind of telepathy, you know. I always believe, when almighty wants to create something, he makes everything looks easy. Mansi agreed to sing and she has done all the justice to the song. I am so very thankful to Mansi and Farkhanda Razvi for their collaboration and I am so glad that people are liking every bit of the song. Some beautiful things happen in few moments and some beautiful moments are created for lifelong” – Somnath.
Somnath, from a very early age was very keen on making music and this interest inspired him to make compositions from a tender age of 13. After graduating from Calcutta University, he decides to take music as profession.
After working for a year in Calcutta, one fine morning in 2004, he decides to move to Mumbai and since then he is making his compositions for music albums, T.V serials, documentaries and short films. The composer loves to work with “New” Talented Singers and Musicians.
