Music Review: Aye Ranjha by Sharanya Natrajan
Sharanya Natrajan is a well known name in the musical world. This gorgeous lady is an independent singer, songwriter, producer, vocal coach as well as musicpreneur. All her songs are fully energetic and enthusiastic. She has spread the charm of her music both in India and abroad.
The talented singer bagged the opportunity to sing harmonies to Mohan Kannan for the song 'Aankhein milayenge dar se’ from the popular movie ‘Neerja’. She has also performed live with Amit Trivedi for the music launch of the movie ‘Queen’.
She has released a few English originals in collaboration with other artists but her recent debut Hindi single has taken the industry by a storm. The track is named 'Aye Raanjha’ and has been released by Songdew. The lyrics are profound, meticulous and relatable. They've been penned down in the most expressive way and Sherry's entrancing singing skills have pushed them to another level.
The lyrics describe the agony of a girl who has been separated from her lover - (modern day Raanjha) and unceasingly searches for him. The way Sharanya aka Sherry pronounces the word ‘Raanjhe’ is just admirable and one would go back again and again to listen to the track. The use of transcendent lines like ‘Nayan mere barse hai, tujh bin mere raanjhe’ and 'Sapne kyu sajaye sajna’ along with 'Aa bhi jaa raanjha, heer kab tak tarse’ gives the song another level of emotionality. It touches the depths of heart and is really exhilarating and uplifting. The brisk tempo and the change of dynamic of the song from Decrescendo to Fortissimo makes it a fantastic composition. The mellow and deep timbre of the song is what keeps the song fresh.
The use of numerous lovely instruments sonorously along with confluent canorous vocals makes the song pleasant and soulful. Sharanya has seemingly made a lot of effort so that this track reaches the heart and calms the soul. There's no doubt why one should hear her enchanting voice, especially in this track.
