Music Review: 23:00 by Avora Records
The brand new song from the talented band from Aizawl hits all the notes right from the beginning. The song has a unique yet familiar jazzy beat, which makes it stands apart from other indie songs in the same genre.
The band bagged the top spot at Sennheiser top 50 last year and have acquired the reputation of churning out one hit song after another.23:00 is no different. Based on the theme of jealousy, the song packs a solid punch.
The lead singer of the band has to be credited for crooning a masterpiece of a song. The vocals and voice of the singer are rich and warm, which make you want to listen to it again and again. This is one of the song that plays out best, when listened live at a cafe or gig. The background instruments are well balanced and are quite engaging. They complement the lyrics of the songs in a great fashion and carry the song forward.
Avora Records has been often complemented for their smart use of instruments, with their lead guitarist Ruata Renthlei being adjudged the best guitarist of Hornbill International Rock Contest for 2017. The band is one of the most promising indie talent in the country right now. The rhythmic masterpiece, 23:00 just proves our opinion right. The flow is so uniform that the song will automatically get stuck in your head.
The only low that listeners will encounter while listening to this song is that song has an exhaustive duration of 6 minutes. Nonetheless, the long duration is too small an issue to be considered in front of the song’s musical prowess.
Give it a listen to get an actual knowledge of how much the Indian indie music scene has matured. We are sure you will not be disappointed.
