A New Folk Sound In Town - Zoya Mohan!
Meet the new independent voice which has had us hooked with her indie-folk sound and her fascinating expression of music. Zoya Mohan, an Indian born, California raised folk fusion songstress, has been praised by the likes of The Huffington Post, Wondering Sound, Rolling Stone India, MTV Indies, ELLE and more.
The X factor in her music is the intrigue arrangement of sounds - her entrancing vocal style, coupled with intense, stirring harmonies and eclectic instrumentation that would make you listen to her songs over and over again.
Zoya has released three albums, “Letters To Toska”, “The Girl Who Used To Live In My Room” and 'Natural Disaster', one visual EP called “Lasya,” and one electronic remix compilation, “Zoya: Plugged In,” that donated all it’s proceeds to install electricity in schools across rural India.
Her latest album - 'Natural Disaster' has hit the indie music scene last month with Zoya's first ever launch tour in India. If you were present at any of her gigs, you would know that her live music sounds exactly same as her recorded music despite of diversified sounds used in recordings.
Zoya's latest album has been on the top of our playlist since it's out. We bet you would love it too!
