Here in this blog, we’ll introduce you to a selective group of innovative musicians that we came across while surfing through the internet.They’re probably not winning grammy awards as we go but they definitely have that uniqueness that leads to upcoming path-breaking musicians in India.
1. Penn Masala
This group of musicians can mix any kind of music from under the sky, be it pop,rap,Punjabi,or rock.
If you’ve heard of them before, you would already know of their expertise of amalgamating different genres of music and integrating into one entitiy.It’s almost like another living being,breathing and alive.
Although it might seem,at the first glance that putting famous hits of an international band like Maroon 5 and a local Punjabi song into one might not be a good idea after all,and it might easily go horribly wrong.
But they always surprise us by coming up with innovative strategies that make it seem like they are not 2 different songs at all.
It is no stretching imagination that these people are actually making up to the global level.
Also,don’t forget their team of beautiful and sophisticated dancers that provide extreme visualization to their songs and make it worth the watch.
2. Dhruv Vishvanath
This guy is making it big in the Indian music scene.His outstanding performances in Bacardi nh7 weekender, Hard Rock Cafes and Turquoise Cottage is bringing him in the limelight,slowly and steadilty.
We really think he might be the next big thing as he’s got huge potential and talent,both unprecedented.
3. Tetseo Sisters
Tetseo Sisters are from Nagaland. The Tetseo Sisters are trying to keep the tribal Naga tradition of folk singing alive and in their songs, they tell the stories of their people, their joys and sorrows, hopes and aspirations.
In their performances, they use a different variety of instruments of Naga origin and amaze the audience with their authentic music.
The Tetseo Sisters have been singing folk music from their childhood and have performed in various parts of the country and abroad
4. Jasleen Royal
Jasleen Kaur Royal commonly known as Jasleen Royal is an independent Indian singer, songwriter and a music composerwho sings in Punjabi, Hindi and as well as in English.She is a multi-instrumentalist and a great performer,who has won the hearts of thousands of Indians.
Achieving what she did at such a young and glorious age, is very super cool.
She won an award for the Best Indie Song at the MTV Video Music Awards India 2013. She received this award for her debut song "Panchi Ho Jaava", composed and sung by Jasleen which is based on a poem by late Shiv Kumar Batalvi.
This band of 8 members (11 members performing on stage) is one of the upcoming Indian fusion bands in India who are creating path-breaking music.
Advaita won the GIMA (Global Indian Music Awards) 2012 award for best rock album for The Silent Sea. They also received a nomination under the best fusion album for The Silent Sea. Advaita were also voted the best fusion band by PALM EXPO 2011.In its 2014 listing of "25 Greatest Indian Rock Songs of the last 25 Years", "Rolling Stone India" featured Mofunk (The Silent Sea, 2012), which is based on a Carnatic devotional poem by South Indian poet Muthuswami Diksithar.
